Lahaina, Ka'anapali

Lahaina

Historic Lahaina town is the hub of the West side. Once an old whaling port, Lahaina is rich in history. Lahainaluna School began as a boarding school for men taught by the missionaries. At 175 years old, this is the oldest school West of the Rockies. The largest Banyan tree outside of India graces the town center near the boat harbor and the historic Pioneer Inn. There are many shops and restaurants on Front Street in the central part of Lahaina town. The Expeditions Ferry departs from the Lahaina Harbor headed for the nearby Lanai island several times daily.

Ka'anapali

The Ka'anapali and Kapalua areas are north of Lahaina town , dotted with emerald golf courses, walking paths, townhouses and private residences. The views from the ocean looking at West Maui mountains is absolutely breathtaking with whales jumping in the sunset glow.

Ka'anapali Resort area is a popular snorkeling destination with a 3 mile beach. The white sand beach is edged by a rocky peninsula known as Black Rock This rocky area is home to many colorful tropical fish and green sea turtles.
